NOTE: The ASA filament supply is spotty at the moment. I’m waiting on a large restocking order to keep the printers humming, but lead times are a bit unpredictable. Please be patient!
Want a rigged-and-ready, rooftop fly rod carrier but DON’T want to spend a fortune to get it? I did too. So I built one, and it’s available to you now as a kit that allows you to build your own for a fraction of the cost of a factory-built unit.
Each kit supplies you with everything you need except the tube. Custom tubes are expensive to make and ship, and you can get an excellent tube from your local home improvement store in the form of a PVC conduit. Take that pipe and the pieces I supply and … Bob’s your uncle.
You can cut your pipe to whatever length you like. 2" pipe is big enough that you can make a half-length carrier so you can pull your rod apart into two sections, fold them tip-to-tail, and thread them into the holder. This makes for a more compact system for truck beds or smaller vehicles, and also reduces flexing in the PVC pipe.
This is the Secure model. It includes a locking reel box and a nose cone. If you don't need it to lock, the Basic model will save you some money.
The lock is a programmable, 3-dial combination lock.
You supply a length of 2" PVC Schedule 80 Conduit and glue the parts to it with plumbing solvent glue, or epoxy.
Assembly takes just seconds.
Because many people choose to build their own mounting systems, this is supplied without mounts. Mounts are available separately.
