The two rod, basic carrier is perfect for fishermen that want the flexibility to carry multiple rods easily, but that don't anticipate needing to lock them up unattended. It's designed around 1.5" EMT (galvanized steel) conduit which is very rigid and very strong. You provide two lengths of conduit - available at any home improvement store for about $40 each - and we supply pretty much everything else.
Inside the conduit, your rods are cradled in an integral, braided PET sleeve. This is the same "finger trap" material that's used to make standalone rod protectors, and it guards against both impacts and abrasions. Your rod will never touch the wall of the tube.
The system includes:
A 3D printed double reel box with bungee loop closure.
Bungee loops to secure your rods within the reel box
A double-tube front aero cap
Two mounting spacers with included 5/16" mounting bolts
An epoxy packet for bonding the reel box and front cap to the conduit
A T-10 driver to allow you to remove and reinstall the sleeves if necessary
All of the plastic components are heavily printed in ASA, which is very UV resistant, and well suited to outdoor functional parts.
The mounting spacers include a stainless steel strap to compress the plastic mounts and ensure that even in an accident the tubes stay in place. The spacers create a very flexible set of options for DIY'ing your mount system, and they are also fully compatible with our mounting kits. Because most rack systems are black, I print the mounting spacers in black regardless of the color for the rest of the system.
